Gjøvik University College

Profile

Gjøvik University College (GUC) was established in 1994. The information security group at GUC is the Norwegian Information Security laboratory (NISlab). 12 out of 40 NISlab staff members focus their research on biometrics. GUC has a biometric lab working in relevant fields with abundant research experience and contributions in biometric fields, and has been an active partner in the European 7th framework project TURBINE (2008-2011) and FIDELITY (2012-2016) and achieved research experience and testing results on biometric template protection algorithms and security analysis, biometric sample quality assessment, multi-biometrics, new imaging techniques for biometrics, anti-spoofing, biometric database indexing, and mobile biometrics, etc. Besides, GUC is involved in several Norwegian Research Council projects on biometric authentication, in the European Thematic Network BEST, and in the BTP-metrics and NFIQ2 projects funded by NIST. GUC is also an active participant to represent the Standards Norway for SC37 and SC27, and successfully output TURBINE‘s reference architecture for biometric template protection into ISO/IEC 24745.

Role in the project

GUC will use its knowledge and experience in breeder document security enhancement research gain in FIDELITY to contribute in state of art investigation, cases analysis, security feature recommendation, standardisation activities and other aspects, to WP2, WP3, WP4, WP5, WP7 and lead WP6.
