ANTS (Agence Nationale des Titres Sécurisés) is the French Authority for Secure Documents, it acts as a central agency under the supervision of the French Ministry of Interior with a wide range of responsibilities for issuance of secure documents among other ministries and agencies. That is why the management board of ANTS is composed of members of different ministries (finance, justice, defense,). ANTS is involved in the process of delivering ID documents and travel documents in a secure way, including breeder documents and face-to-face delivery with fingerprints based authentication (ePassports, and soon eDriving-License). ANTS is strongly committed to participating in international standardisation, especially through its active participation in ICAO working groups and the initiative of best addressing breeder documents securing (technical report under preparation). With the French Ministry of Justice ANTS is also part of the project for an international platform of civil status data exchange (project managed by the “Commission Internationale de l’Etat-Civil”). In France a national platform for the exchange of civil-status data is currently under rollout with a perimeter of 36,000 town halls. ANTS has recently been recognised by French Network Information Security Agency (Prime Minister) as the Trusted Electronic Service Provider for the delivering of multifunctional smartcards for each ministry in France (Justice is under roll-out, Defense is beginning the roll-out). ANTS participated in LSP STORK and is now part of STORK 2.0

Role in the project

ANTS’ participation in ORIGINS project will be based on its expertise and involvement in the topics related to combating ID theft and to securing breeder documents. ANTS will be involved in providing other partners technical and use case expertise.
